Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 7, 2026

At eTaxify, we are committed to a high level of data protection for our customers. We only store necessary personal data, anonymize data when possible, and use privacy-friendly alternatives (e.g. for analytics tools).

The eTaxify privacy policy describes how eTaxify collects, uses, and deletes your data.

By using the website etaxify.ch and the associated services for creating electronic tax statements (the "Services"), you understand that your data will be processed in connection with your use of our Services in accordance with the following privacy policy. This privacy policy sets out (i) what data we collect through access to and use of the Services, (ii) how we use this data, and (iii) what safeguards we take to protect your data.

This privacy policy should be read and understood as a supplement to our Terms of Use.

1. Legal Framework

The Services are operated by eTaxify (the "Company", "we"), a simple partnership (Einfache Gesellschaft) based in Switzerland. They are therefore subject to the laws and regulations of Switzerland.

2. Data That eTaxify Collects From You and How We Use It

Data collection is limited to the following:

2.1 Visiting the Website etaxify.ch

We use GoatCounter as our analytics tool. GoatCounter is a more privacy-friendly alternative to other analytics tools such as Google Analytics. We do not store IP addresses, unique identifiers, or personal data of users. GoatCounter describes itself as "privacy-aware". The GoatCounter instance is self-hosted on our own infrastructure. Aggregated, anonymous usage statistics are retained indefinitely.

2.2 Order Processing

  • We do not store any personal data (e.g. first name, last name) that you provide or that would be visible during the creation of the e-tax statement. Only your provided email address is stored and used for order processing, delivery of the e-tax statement, and information about our services.
  • After order processing, we delete your personal financial data and store an anonymized version together with the order number to assist with support requests (e.g. issues with e-tax statement generation). This data is retained indefinitely.
  • The generated e-tax statement is sent directly to your email address. We do not store your e-tax statement.

2.3 Payment Information

We use the third-party provider Stripe to process payments. We share necessary information with the payment provider so that the payment can be successfully processed and assigned to your order. The payment provider does not have access to your financial data or your tax statement. The retention of payment information is governed by the policies of Stripe.

2.4 Communication With eTaxify

We use the third-party provider Proton for general email communication (e.g. support requests). Your communications with us, such as support requests, bug reports, or feature requests, may be stored by our staff. The legal basis for processing is our legitimate interest in resolving issues efficiently and improving the quality of our Services. The information you provide when contacting our support team is processed for analytical purposes (e.g. creating aggregated statistics), but we do not conduct targeted advertising or profiling.

2.5 Messages From eTaxify

We use the third-party provider Resend to handle emails (e.g. order confirmation). We use your email address for messages related to our services. When you use our Service, you agree to receive messages from us, including promotional emails. You can stop receiving emails from us by following the unsubscribe instructions included in each email sent. Your email address is stored in connection with your order.

2.6 Links to Other Websites and Embedded Content

Our website may contain links to other websites. However, we are not responsible for the content of websites we link to, and external websites are subject to their own terms of use and privacy policies.
